3A Art - Kandinsky Inspired Colored Circles Collage

Students selected three colors of felt, cut three circles out of the fabric and sewed a button in the center to display a bounty of color! The inspiration comes from the artist Wassily Kandinsky and his use of color studies in circles as abstract art. 16x20

Students used liquid watercolor to make colorful paper. Circles were cut out of the painted paper to use as a design on a 16x6 serving tray. The students enjoyed the surprises of blending colors. It was most likely the classes’ favorite project this year!

5th Grade Art - Monoprint Collaboration Collage

Students used a method of “monoprinting” to create a square print (16x24) as a part of a larger group print. As the 5th Grade students have been combined into one class this year, we symbolically printed one Monoprint on top of the other in some spaces. We talked about adding a prayer, to help make this piece of art, inspirational.
